Raymond

Raymond, you wake up and give it your all

Working so hard, standing steady and tall

But no matter how busy the long week might get

You look out for your mama, and I don't forget

You've got a heart that is gentle and true

I see the wonderful person in you

I am so proud to be your mother

I wouldn't trade this life for another

I pray that the stars line up for you

And every last one of your dreams comes true

You're a hardworking man with a soul made of gold

The greatest story my heart ever told

I think of the days with the guitars in tune

Playing our music all afternoon

Or singing with Willie right there by the stage

My favorite memories written on the page

Hanging with David, your closest best friend

Playing some shuffleboard right to the end

I am so proud to be your mother

I wouldn't trade this life for another

I pray that the stars line up for you

And every last one of your dreams comes true

You're a hardworking man with a soul made of gold

The greatest story my heart ever told

You look out for me when the shadows get long

You're the steady backbeat in my favorite song

I cherish the laughter and moments we share

Just knowing you, Raymond, is beyond compare

'Cause I am so proud to be your mother

I wouldn't trade this life for another

I pray that the stars line up for you

And every last one of your dreams comes true

You're a hardworking man with a soul made of gold

The greatest story my heart ever told
