Troy

The very first moment I opened my eyes

And took my first breath in this world

I looked up to see a welcoming smile

And a love that was gently unfurled

From the day of my birth, it was part of the plan

That I’d be raised by a steadfast man

Oh, Troy is a father who answers the call

A love that does anything, stands through it all

He’d move every mountain, he’d walk through the fire

Just to protect me and lift me up higher

I just want to say, with all of my heart

I love you, my dad, like I did from the start

When the road gets heavy and the shadows fall

I know I don't have to walk alone

I just say his name and he's on his way

Showing the strongest love I've ever known

He doesn't keep count of the miles or the cost

With a father like you, I could never be lost

Oh, Troy is a father who answers the call

A love that does anything, stands through it all

He’d move every mountain, he’d walk through the fire

Just to protect me and lift me up higher

I just want to say, with all of my heart

I love you, my dad, like I did from the start

Some folks search a lifetime to find a true friend

But I had my hero right there on day one

I want you to know, till my journey's end

I'll count every blessing for all that you've done

Oh, Troy is a father who answers the call

A love that does anything, stands through it all

He’d move every mountain, he’d walk through the fire

Just to protect me and lift me up higher

I just want to say, with all of my heart

I love you, my dad, like I did from the start

Yes, I love you, my dad, like I did from the start
