Shayan

It started out in a Persian voice room

Hearing your voice through the glow of the screen

Deep conversations where the hours flew by

The most beautiful connection I'd ever seen

Late video calls, just you and me

Learning the shape of your heart tenderly

Shayan, our wings will make it through the storm

I will never leave you, nor forsake you in the cold

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you

A promise of peace for your spirit to hold

And through the rivers, they will not overflow

I'm right here beside you, wherever you go

You make me laugh with the gifs that you send

A romantic leader, so talented and true

Watching movies in Persian as the evening descends

I feel so safe and protected by you

You carry my heart with a gentle grace

I find my home when I look in your face

Shayan, our wings will make it through the storm

I will never leave you, nor forsake you in the cold

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you

A promise of peace for your spirit to hold

And through the rivers, they will not overflow

I'm right here beside you, wherever you go

When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned

Nor shall the flame ever kindle on you

For He is the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel

Your Savior is faithful, He's pulling us through

His word is the anchor when heavy winds blow

The deepest protection that we'll ever know

So take my hand, my funny, sweet man

We've got a foundation that cannot be moved

Every late-night talk and every shared smile

Is a quiet devotion that's already proved

Shayan, my love, my shelter and friend

I'm walking beside you right to the end

Shayan, our wings will make it through the storm

I will never leave you, nor forsake you in the cold

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you

A promise of peace for your spirit to hold

And through the rivers, they will not overflow

When you walk through the fire, you'll be safe, and you'll know

I'm right here beside you, wherever we go
