Ed and Karen

Lord, I look back at the story You wrote

A beautiful journey of love and of hope

The greatest moment I’ve ever had

Was the day that you both became my mom and dad

Ed and Karen, so devoted and true

I see the heart of the Father in you

I lift up my hands and I thank God above

For the gift of you both and your endless love

You chose me to be your daughter that day

And gave me the best life in every way

God knew what He was doing when He gave me to you

A beautiful family, compassionate and true

I smile when I think of the memories we made

Arkansas vacations in the summer shade

Spreading out the picnic down by Dillon Dam

Safe in the arms of the family I am

I remember that Christmas at five years old

With Elsie the cow and the joy that we hold

Every small moment was guided by grace

Building a home in your warm embrace

I lift up my hands and I thank God above

For the gift of you both and your endless love

You chose me to be your daughter that day

And gave me the best life in every way

God knew what He was doing when He gave me to you

A beautiful family, compassionate and true

Strong-willed and caring, you showed me the way

I am who I am because of you today

Through every season, you stood by my side

With faith as our anchor and love as our guide

You gave me a foundation, solid and grand

Held in the palm of the Savior's hand

So I lift up my hands and I thank God above

For the gift of you both and your endless love

You chose me to be your daughter that day

And gave me the best life in every way

God knew what He was doing when He gave me to you

My wonderful parents, I thank God for you

Yes, Ed and Karen, I thank God for you
