Joe

I carry the roots of the old country deep

Italian blood in the promises I keep

A strong foundation of family pride

But my world really started when she walked by my side

It was just a normal day clocking in at work

Till I caught her eye and the whole room turned

I knew right then, before a word was spun

I looked at my future and knew she was the one

But the highest praise that my spirit can pour

Is for the day I surrendered to the Lord

I gave Him my life, I laid down my pride

Now Jesus is walking right here by my side

I’m a man who is blessed, I’m a man who is free

Saved by the cross and the love rescuing me

I remember the moment I fell to my knees

Trading the weight of the world for His peace

The day I gave my life to the King

And felt the salvation His mercy can bring

He took all my burdens and washed them in white

He guided my soul from the dark to the light

Now every breath that I take is a prayer

Knowing my Savior is waiting right there

And the highest praise that my spirit can pour

Is for the day I surrendered to the Lord

I gave Him my life, I laid down my pride

Now Jesus is walking right here by my side

I’m a man who is blessed, I’m a man who is free

Saved by the cross and the love rescuing me

I cherish my wife and the life we have built

I honor the heritage running through me still

But the anchor that holds when the waters get rough

Is Jesus my Savior, His grace is enough

Oh, the highest praise that my spirit can pour

Is for the day I surrendered to the Lord

I gave Him my life, I laid down my pride

Now Jesus is walking right here by my side

I’m a man who is blessed, I’m a man who is free

Saved by the cross and the love rescuing me

Yeah, this is my story, the journey of Joe

Walking with Jesus wherever I go
