Jennifer

Lord, I lift my hands and thank You for the day

You brought my firstborn child and showed my heart the way

My only girl, a miracle of light

Jennifer, you made my spirit take to flight

A precious soul entrusted to my care

A beautiful answer to a quiet prayer

I love you now, and I will love you forever

We share a bond of grace that nothing can sever

Through every season, as the river flows

My love for you, Jennifer, just grows and grows

I thank the Lord for the gift that you are

My only girl, my bright morning star

I close my eyes and see those early years

Before the world brought any doubts or fears

A little toddler holding on so tight

Riding on my back into the evening light

Your laughter was a hallelujah song

A memory of joy where we belong

I love you now, and I will love you forever

We share a bond of grace that nothing can sever

Through every season, as the river flows

My love for you, Jennifer, just grows and grows

I thank the Lord for the gift that you are

My only girl, my bright morning star

Time moves fast, the years go rushing by

But you will always be the apple of my eye

I pray His wings will cover you in peace

And may His blessings for you never cease

Just like I carried you when you were small

The Lord will carry you, He'll catch you if you fall

I love you now, and I will love you forever

We share a bond of grace that nothing can sever

Through every season, as the river flows

My love for you, Jennifer, just grows and grows

I thank the Lord for the gift that you are

My only girl, my bright morning star

Now and forever, wherever you go

Jennifer, I just want you to know
