Forrest

From the very first day, the connection was deep

Like a rhythm I already knew how to play

We share the same interests, the secrets we keep

And the quietest words that we don't have to say

It was easy with you right from the start

We found common ground and it anchored my heart

So whatever the trials that stand in our way

I am right by your side, I promise you that

You're the one who is caring and brightens my day

With a helping hand and a wonderful laugh

Through the highest of highs and the hardest of weather

I'm right here, Forrest, we're in this together

When the world gets too heavy, you reach out your hand

Always the first one to help pull me through

You lighten the mood, you just understand

I find my absolute center in you

You're funny and tender, a steady embrace

You bring so much peace to this beautiful space

So whatever the trials that stand in our way

I am right by your side, I promise you that

You're the one who is caring and brightens my day

With a helping hand and a wonderful laugh

Through the highest of highs and the hardest of weather

I'm right here, Forrest, we're in this together

Tribulations will come, the shadows will fall

But we built a shelter in all that we share

We'll stand side by side and we'll conquer it all

As long as I look and I know you are there

So whatever the trials that stand in our way

I am right by your side, I promise you that

You're the one who is caring and brightens my day

With a helping hand and a wonderful laugh

Through the highest of highs and the hardest of weather

I'm right here, Forrest, we're in this together

Yes, I'm right here, Forrest, forever and ever
