Chase

Thirty-five years since the day that we met

We grew up together, how could I forget?

You were the boy with a secret to keep

A crush you held onto, quiet and deep

You watched from a distance, you gave me my space

But destiny always had plans for us, Chase

You are so patient, loving, and kind

The most caring heart that a woman could find

You showed me a man who is worthy and true

I finally found my forever in you

There is no fear when I'm holding you near

'Cause perfect love drives out fear

We went through the seasons, we walked through the years

You waited it out through the doubts and the tears

From innocent kids to this beautiful life

You cut through the dark like a warm, shining light

I look in your eyes and I finally see

The boy who was always just waiting for me

You are so patient, loving, and kind

The most caring heart that a woman could find

You showed me a man who is worthy and true

I finally found my forever in you

There is no fear when I'm holding you near

'Cause perfect love drives out fear

I used to be guarded, unsure of the way

But you brought the sun to my rainiest day

There is no fear in love, I finally see

The truth in the way that you look right at me

It took us a lifetime to get to right here

But perfect love drives out fear

Oh Chase, you are patient, loving, and kind

The most caring heart that a woman could find

You showed me a man who is worthy and true

I finally found my forever in you

There is no fear when I'm holding you near

'Cause perfect love drives out fear

Yeah, your perfect love drives out fear
