Shamia

You were the first to change my world, my beautiful firstborn child

I saw the goodness of the Lord the moment that you smiled

Through all the years of growing up, our bond has only grown

My daughter and my best friend, the sweetest soul I've known

Oh, Lord, keep Your hands on Shamia

Guide her spirit in everything she does

I am so proud of the woman she is

And I'm wrapping her up in my love

No matter what happens, whatever she goes through

Shamia, I will always be here for you

Now I watch you with your own, a mother strong and true

Pouring out the very grace that I poured into you

You are a blessing to your kids, a blessing to my heart

I pray His light shines on your path, wherever you may start

Oh, Lord, keep Your hands on Shamia

Guide her spirit in everything she does

I am so proud of the woman she is

And I'm wrapping her up in my love

No matter what happens, whatever she goes through

Shamia, I will always be here for you

Through the valleys low and the mountains high

Through the changing seasons of this life

You never have to walk alone, my dear

Just look beside you, I am always here

I love you, I love you, through the joy and the tears!

So Lord, keep Your hands on Shamia

Cover her steps in everything she does

I am so proud of the woman she is

And I'm wrapping her up in my love

No matter what happens, whatever she goes through

Shamia, I will always be here for you

Yes, Shamia, I will always be right here for you
