Husband

We met at thirteen in the junior high halls

Just a couple of kids, didn't know much at all

By seventeen, we were holding our firstborn son

Growing up fast, but the Lord had only begun

You were always so smart, always making me smile

Walking beside me through every mile

I pray from the riches of His glorious grace

He strengthens your spirit to finish the race

Deep in your inner being, His power is light

Guiding our family through the darkest night

Look at what He's done, look at where we stand

Held together by the Father's hand

We walked through the valley when addiction took hold

A heavy mountain to climb, a battle so cold

But we fought through the fire, and we broke every chain

By the grace of the Savior, He washed away pain

Then three more sweet children came to fill up our home

A testament of mercy, we were never alone

I pray from the riches of His glorious grace

He strengthens your spirit to finish the race

Deep in your inner being, His power is light

Guiding our family through the darkest night

Look at what He's done, look at where we stand

Held together by the Father's hand

You're the rock that I lean on, supportive and true

Bringing laughter and joy with the humor in you

From a teenage dream to a love refined by fire

To lift up His name is our only desire

I pray from the riches of His glorious grace

He strengthens your spirit to finish the race

Deep in your inner being, His power is light

Guiding our family through the darkest night

Look at what He's done, look at where we stand

Held together by the Father's hand
