Maribel

I remember the hospital room so bright

When I saw your face for the very first time

The most beautiful baby I ever knew

An incredible feeling just holding you

When your parents asked me to guide your way

And be your nina, it changed my life that day

You brought so much joy to my world right then

A beautiful bond that will never end

Oh, Maribel, mija, I love you so much

You comfort the world with a gentle touch

With a heart so big and a soul so sweet

You are friendly to everyone that you meet

Respectful and loving, you shine so bright

With the help of God, I will stay by your side

Forever your nina, forever your guide

Every year I look forward and count the days

To celebrate you in a million ways

You tell me the theme that you want it to be

And we plan the best birthdays, just you and me

Working together to make it all right

To see your smile shining into the night

Watching you grow is a beautiful art

My sweet goddaughter with the giving heart

Oh, Maribel, mija, I love you so much

You comfort the world with a gentle touch

With a heart so big and a soul so sweet

You are friendly to everyone that you meet

Respectful and loving, you shine so bright

With the help of God, I will stay by your side

Forever your nina, forever your guide

Always helping others, always sharing a smile

For anyone hurting, you go the extra mile

I thank God above for the gift of you

For the beautiful person you are growing into

You treat every stranger like a lifelong friend

I will be right here for you until the end

Oh, Maribel, mija, I love you so much

You comfort the world with a gentle touch

With a heart so big and a soul so sweet

You are friendly to everyone that you meet

Respectful and loving, you shine so bright

With the help of God, I will stay by your side

Forever your nina, forever your guide

My sweet Maribel, my joy and my pride
