Matt

Back in college, I was dressed to save the day

In a superhero costume, you just smiled my way

You fixed my DVD player, but you did so much more

You opened up a love I'd never known before

That perfect, tender moment when our lips finally met

It was your very first kiss, and the last I'd ever get

Matt, you're fiercely loving, loyal, handsome and true

A heart built for serving, my Enneagram Two

I hear the Lord’s promise, and I live it today

Where you go, I go, where you stay, I stay

Walking together, whatever the road

Your God will be my God, and your heart is my home

I remember waking up, the morning was new

Watching the golden sunlight shine right over you

In the quiet of the room, the Holy Spirit drew near

And God whispered a promise right into my ear

"This is the person you'll spend the rest of your life with"

A deeply kind partner, a heavenly gift

Full of grace and devotion, steady as the dawn

You are the faithful rock I built my life upon

Matt, you're fiercely loving, loyal, handsome and true

A heart built for serving, my Enneagram Two

I hear the Lord’s promise, and I live it today

Where you go, I go, where you stay, I stay

Walking together, whatever the road

Your God will be my God, and your heart is my home

Forty years on this earth, what a beautiful life

And twenty you've given to me as your wife

I am so grateful for the love that you pour

Praising Heaven for these years, and praying for more

'Cause Matt, you're fiercely loving, loyal, handsome and true

A heart built for serving, my Enneagram Two

I hear the Lord’s promise, and I live it today

Where you go, I go, where you stay, I stay

Walking together, whatever the road

Your God will be my God, and your heart is my home
