Frances

The morning light is breaking through the kitchen window blind

Pour a cup of coffee, leave the present day behind

You'd tell me all the stories of when you were just a kid

I'd hang on every memory and everything you did

I can picture you back then, running wild and free

Those early hours talking mean the whole wide world to me

Oh, Frances, you're the shelter when the rain begins to fall

Fierce and so protective, but the sweetest of them all

With a laugh that fills the quiet and a heart sent from above

I just want to make sure you know, you are so deeply loved

You always had a joke to share to chase away the gray

A gentle kind of magic in the things you'd do and say

You wrapped your arms around me, kept the heavy world outside

A mother and a guardian, my loving, steady guide

Whenever life gets heavy and I need a place to land

I know I'll find my comfort in the palm of your warm hand

Oh, Frances, you're the shelter when the rain begins to fall

Fierce and so protective, but the sweetest of them all

With a laugh that fills the quiet and a heart sent from above

I just want to make sure you know, you are so deeply loved

I treasure every morning, sitting right there by your side

Hearing 'bout the little girl with eyes so bright and wide

Through all the years of giving, and the kindness you impart

I keep those early hours safely folded in my heart

Oh, Frances, you're the shelter when the rain begins to fall

Fierce and so protective, but the sweetest of them all

With a laugh that fills the quiet and a heart sent from above

I just want to make sure you know, you are so deeply loved

Yeah, I just want to make sure you know, you are so deeply loved
