Phyllis

Looking out the window, seeing you next door

Phyllis, you've always been a blessing and more

I remember smoke rising from the backyard grill

We'd gather 'round the cookout, time would stand still

Sharing good food and sharing the light

Making sure everyone’s spirit was bright

Oh, you’re always ready to listen, always ready to care

You pull up a seat and you’re instantly there

Phyllis, my friend, when the skies turn to gray

I want you to know what the good Lord would say

He is walking beside you, His love is so true

In every season, God is with you

Sometimes the world gets a little too loud

But you bring a peace that parts every cloud

I knock on your door with a weight on my mind

And a patient, sweet spirit is what I always find

You give me your time, you give me your heart

A faithful companion, right from the start

Oh, you’re always ready to listen, always ready to care

You pull up a seat and you’re instantly there

Phyllis, my friend, when the skies turn to gray

I want you to know what the good Lord would say

He is walking beside you, His love is so true

In every season, God is with you

Just like the warmth of those summer days

May His holy comfort surround you always

For every burden you’ve helped me to bear

I’m sending to heaven a neighborly prayer

Keep holding the faith, keep shining your light

The Lord is your shepherd through morning and night

Oh, you’re always ready to listen, always ready to care

You pull up a seat and you’re instantly there

Phyllis, my friend, when the skies turn to gray

I want you to know what the good Lord would say

He is walking beside you, His love is so true

Hallelujah, Phyllis, God is with you

Yes, He is right there with you!
