Evelyn

I look up to heaven and I have to testify

God gave me a blessing that I can't deny

I love that He chose you to be my mother

A woman named Evelyn, unlike any other

Your kindness and strength are a light in the dark

You love on God's people with a beautiful heart

I love you, Mommy, for all that you are to me

For showing me the way that a spirit should be

Thank you for the grace that you constantly show

And the love for others that you let overflow

Through every season, whatever will be

Thank you for your prayers for me, and over me

I love our time together, just sitting right there

I love all our talks and the laughs that we share

The joy in our voices, the peace in the room

Your smiling face chases away all the gloom

Your prayer life is a river that never runs dry

Always lifting my name to the Father on high

I love you, Mommy, for all that you are to me

For showing me the way that a spirit should be

Thank you for the grace that you constantly show

And the love for others that you let overflow

Through every season, whatever will be

Thank you for your prayers for me, and over me

When the world gets heavy and I need to stand

I feel the power of God in the touch of your hand

You are my warrior on your bending knees

Asking the Lord for the shelter I need

Thank you for the faith that you planted in my soul

Your love is the anchor that makes my life whole

I love you, Mommy, for all that you are to me

For showing me the way that a spirit should be

Thank you for the grace that you constantly show

And the love for others that you let overflow

Through every season, whatever will be

Thank you for your prayers for me, and over me

Oh, thank you for your prayers for me, and over me!
