Marion

I bowed my head and asked the Lord above

To lead me to a faithful, holy love

I prayed I'd meet him in the house of grace

While singing in the chorus, I saw your face

A sudden bright light shining over you

I heard God whisper, "He's the one for you"

I knew right then the Lord had heard my plea

When heaven gave my husband, Marion, to me

Thank you, Jesus, for this wise and gentle man

A heart of gold, a part of Your great plan

You are the light that fills my life each day

The very heart that beats in me always

I loved you then, I love you now, my best friend

I'll love you forever, God knew who to send

My girls and I, we needed someone true

To help and love us, and the Lord sent you

You stepped right in, a father and a guide

And now it's twenty-five years by my side

In just one year, we stood and said "I do"

Marion Burroughs, I am bound to you

Linda and Marion, together to the end

God gave His very best, He knew who to send

Thank you, Jesus, for this wise and gentle man

A heart of gold, a part of Your great plan

You are the light that fills my life each day

The very heart that beats in me always

I loved you then, I love you now, my best friend

I'll love you forever, God knew who to send

I love you more than any words can say

I thank the Lord for you every single day

I never want to live without you near

My sunshine, you have chased away the fear

God made you just for me, and me for you

Thank you, Jesus, for a love so true

Oh, thank you, Jesus, for this wise and gentle man

A heart of gold, a part of Your great plan

You are the light that fills my life each day

The very heart that beats in me always

I loved you then, I love you now, my best friend

I'll love you forever, God knew who to send

Yes, Linda and Marion, together to the end
