Michael

I was working in the store the day you walked right through the door

I didn't know my life was 'bout to change

But you came back the next day with a letter in your hand

And suddenly the world was rearranged

You handed me your heart right on the page

And started up a love that wouldn't age

Michael, you're my husband and my very best friend

A sweet and loving father, a grandpa heaven-sent

It's been twenty-something years down this beautiful track

And I will love you forever, to the moon and back

Always and forever, to the moon and back

I still remember how the southern sunshine felt

When I took your hand and promised you my life

On the courthouse lawn in Homer, Louisiana

The day that I became your loving wife

You've been so sweet and caring through the years

Through all the quiet moments and the tears

Michael, you're my husband and my very best friend

A sweet and loving father, a grandpa heaven-sent

It's been twenty-something years down this beautiful track

And I will love you forever, to the moon and back

Always and forever, to the moon and back

From a handwritten note passed across the counter

To a family tree that just keeps growing strong

Every single day I'm so glad I found ya

Right by your side is where I belong

Oh, Michael, you're my husband and my very best friend

A sweet and loving father, a grandpa heaven-sent

It's been twenty-something years down this beautiful track

And I will love you forever, to the moon and back

Always and forever, to the moon and back
