Aunnie

I met you the day you came into this world

My sweet granddaughter, a beautiful girl

Perfect in every way, safe in my arms

I prayed God would keep you away from all harm

Trust in the Lord with all of your heart

And not on your own understanding

Seek out His will in the choices you make

And He'll show you the path you should take

You're beautiful inside and out, it is true

Aunnie, God gave a true blessing in you

I've watched the years pass as you started to grow

Into a young lady I'm honored to know

A quiet, sweet spirit who loves everyone

Shining your faith like the rays of the sun

Trust in the Lord with all of your heart

And not on your own understanding

Seek out His will in the choices you make

And He'll show you the path you should take

You're beautiful inside and out, it is true

Aunnie, God gave a true blessing in you

I love seeing you laugh, seeing your face glow

When you are happy, the whole world will know

But when shadows fall and you're feeling so bad

I wipe away tears from your eyes when you're sad

You love the Lord unconditionally

It's something so beautiful for me to see

A heavenly gift that was sent from above

Wrapped in His mercy and covered in love

So trust in the Lord with all of your heart

And not on your own understanding

Seek out His will in the choices you make

And He'll show you the path you should take

You're beautiful inside and out, it is true

Aunnie, God gave a true blessing in you
