Journey

It was July the ninth in that hospital room

I held my first grandbaby, watching you bloom

Your mama and daddy were glowing with pride

With a beautiful miracle right by their side

That very first snuggle, it filled up my heart

I knew I would love you right from the start

Oh, Journey, keep reaching for the stars up above

I want you to know every day you are loved

Happy first birthday, my precious little girl

With a beautiful smile that lights up the world

You melt my heart every time that I see you

I love you so much, sweet Journey, I do

I love all our overnights, just you and me

Laughing and dancing as free as can be

We'll put on some Bluey and watch for a while

Or play with the animals to see your sweet smile

You spin to the music till you run out of steam

Then we sing "Jesus Loves Me" to bring on the dreams

Oh, Journey, keep reaching for the stars up above

I want you to know every day you are loved

Happy first birthday, my precious little girl

With a beautiful smile that lights up the world

You melt my heart every time that I see you

I love you so much, sweet Journey, I do

One little candle is shining today

I'm cheering you on as you're finding your way

No matter how big or how tall you might grow

There’s a joy in my soul that I want you to know

Oh, Journey, keep reaching for the stars up above

I want you to know every day you are loved

Happy first birthday, my precious little girl

With a beautiful smile that lights up the world

You melt my heart every time that I see you

I love you so much, sweet Journey, I do

Keep reaching for the stars, sweet Journey, I do
