David

Snow was falling back in eighty-seven

Like a gentle blessing sent from heaven

At the Old Spaghetti Bender, ladies' night

You were standing there in the ambient light

I was sitting close, just taking it in

Before we even spoke, I felt it begin

A quiet truth, I could finally hear it

I knew you were the one, deep down in my spirit

David, look at the beautiful life that we share

Every single day, we are living on a prayer

Hand in hand under the heavens above

Thanking the Lord for the gift of your love

Through the seasons of grace and the burdens we bear

We are walking by faith, we are living on a prayer

You've got a tender soul that everybody sees

A gentle, kind heart for the elderly

You serve with a patience that mirrors His grace

Bringing a warm smile to every face

And just when the quiet starts feeling complete

You're so funny, you always keep me on my feet

You are the joy and the rock of my life

I thank God every morning that I am your wife

David, look at the beautiful life that we share

Every single day, we are living on a prayer

Hand in hand under the heavens above

Thanking the Lord for the gift of your love

Through the seasons of grace and the burdens we bear

We are walking by faith, we are living on a prayer

From that crowded room in the winter cold

To a sacred story that God unfolds

You've been my partner, my faithful friend

On a foundation of grace that will never end

David, look at the beautiful life that we share

Every single day, we are living on a prayer

Hand in hand under the heavens above

Thanking the Lord for the gift of your love

Through the seasons of grace and the burdens we bear

We are walking by faith, we are living on a prayer

Forever my love, we are living on a prayer
