Jenn

It was September ten, twenty-twenty-six

When a beautiful friend came into my life

You had a smile that could carry the weight

Through the shadows and into the light

I saw the love pouring out of your heart

A brave, quiet courage right from the start

Oh Jenn, you’re a warrior fighting the fight

Holding onto your faith through the day and the night

Waiting on a kidney, but trusting the plan

I'm walking beside you and holding your hand

No matter where life takes us, I want you to know

I'll always be with you, wherever we go

It's a heavy old road that you've been asked to walk

But you carry the load with such grace

You lean on your prayers when the going gets tough

With a steady, sweet smile on your face

You inspire me daily to stand up and be strong

To keep looking up when the journey gets long

Oh Jenn, you’re a warrior fighting the fight

Holding onto your faith through the day and the night

Waiting on a kidney, but trusting the plan

I'm walking beside you and holding your hand

No matter where life takes us, I want you to know

I'll always be with you, wherever we go

Like a figure eight drawn on the side of the page

This friendship is endless, through every new stage

Through the hoping, the healing, the tears and the test

I'm staying right here, and I'll give you my best

Oh Jenn, you’re a warrior fighting the fight

Holding onto your faith through the day and the night

Waiting on a kidney, but trusting the plan

I'm walking beside you and holding your hand

No matter where life takes us, I want you to know

I'll always be with you, wherever we go

Yeah, I'll always be here for you, wherever we go
