Samuel and Sierra

Back in high school, 2016

Just a mutual friend and a teenage dream

Some said seventeen was too young to know

But God planted a seed and watched it grow

Samuel, you were her breath of fresh air

The funniest guy she had met anywhere

And you swore that Sierra was out of your league

But you healed one another and found what you need

You're the calm steady voice to her loud racing mind

The answer to prayers she was hoping to find

Always a light when the shadows get dark

Selfless and loyal with a humble heart

From the healing you found when the journey began

To the beautiful life that you hold in your hands

Samuel and Sierra, it was meant to be

A love built on kindness and pure loyalty

Right here at this spot, nine years ago

You shared a first kiss and the sparks started to show

Then came the date that changed everything

Long before vows and a gold wedding ring

August the fifth, two thousand seventeen

You asked her to be yours and set the scene

An incredible adventure, walking hand in hand

Exactly the way that the good Lord had planned

You're the calm steady voice to her loud racing mind

The answer to prayers she was hoping to find

Always a light when the shadows get dark

Selfless and loyal with a humble heart

From the healing you found when the journey began

To the beautiful life that you hold in your hands

Samuel and Sierra, it was meant to be

A love built on kindness and pure loyalty

Looking ahead twenty-five years from now

To a house full of laughter, keeping this vow

With dachshunds and animals on the hardwood floors

And future children running right through those doors

She can't wait to see the father you'll be

Passing down love to the whole family

So we gather today to watch you two start

This brand new chapter, giving your heart

As your family and friends, we're so proud and so blessed

To see our sweet niece and nephew at their best

Keep treating the world with that respect and grace

And you'll always find home in each other's embrace

'Cause you're the calm steady voice to her loud racing mind

The answer to prayers she was hoping to find

Always a light when the shadows get dark

Selfless and loyal with a humble heart

From the healing you found when the journey began

To the beautiful life that you hold in your hands

Samuel and Sierra, it was meant to be

Seventeen to forever, for the whole world to see
