Michael

A random night out at the end of October

I wasn't expecting my life to start over

Dressed in a bin bag, a silly disguise

But I saw my whole future right there in your eyes

Michael, you loved me before you quite knew me

Saw through the plastic and looked right into me

When I had nowhere to go, you took me inside

Gave me a safe place where I didn't have to hide

From a girl with no home to a beautiful life

I'm so lucky to stand by your side as your wife

Through the chaos and quiet, so steady and true

Michael, I just want to say, thank you for being you

You became a dad when we barely had started

So brave and so ready, so open-hearted

Then came the wedding, a promise forever

And two more sweet babies to hold us together

Four years have flown by since that Halloween night

And everything heavy feels suddenly light

When I had nowhere to go, you took me inside

Gave me a safe place where I didn't have to hide

From a girl with no home to a beautiful life

I'm so lucky to stand by your side as your wife

Through the chaos and quiet, so steady and true

Michael, I just want to say, thank you for being you

Who knew that a joke of a costume would lead

To the exact kind of anchor I'd desperately need?

You loved me at zero, you gave me your all

You caught me before I could even fall

Now look at this family, look what we made

A foundation of love that is never going to fade

When I had nowhere to go, you took me inside

Gave me a safe place where I didn't have to hide

From a girl with no home to a beautiful life

I'm so lucky to stand by your side as your wife

Four years of magic, so steady and true

Michael, I just want to say, thank you for being you

Yeah, thank you, my love, just for being you
