Dolores

There’s a quiet strength in the early dawn

Before the busy world carries on

Dolores, you’re awake and bowing your head

Asking the Lord to bless the path that we tread

You always put others right at the start

Pouring out the love from your giving heart

Oh, Mama, you’re a prayer warrior on your knees

Talking to Jesus, whispering your pleas

You’ve been my biggest supporter right from the start

With an honest soul and a caring heart

You encourage my spirit to live for His grace

And I see the love of Christ shining in your face

When the shadows fall and the road gets steep

You’re a protective shelter where I can retreat

You speak the truth with a thoughtful voice

Always lifting me up to make the righteous choice

A Christian woman, walking the walk every day

Showing me how to trust, showing me how to pray

Oh, Mama, you’re a prayer warrior on your knees

Talking to Jesus, whispering your pleas

You’ve been my biggest supporter right from the start

With an honest soul and a caring heart

You encourage my spirit to live for His grace

And I see the love of Christ shining in your face

You opened the Bible and showed me the way

To Saint John fourteen and fourteen, I still hear you say

"If you ask anything in His name, He will do it for you"

You taught me that promise is faithful and true

Oh, Mama, you’re a prayer warrior on your knees

Talking to Jesus, whispering your pleas

You’ve been my biggest supporter right from the start

With an honest soul and a caring heart

You encourage my spirit to live for His grace

Thank God for the love in my mother's face
