Keith

We met in the dust of our home race track

The engines were roaring, we never looked back

Then came the highways, packed in the car

Taking family road trips and chasing the stars

You kept us all laughing, mile after mile

Guarding our hearts with a protective smile

You’re the rock for your girls and the grandkids too

There is nothing for this family that you wouldn't do

You are our whole world, a safe place to hide

I’d do it all again just to be by your side

Over and over, whatever we face

I’ll love you forever in this steady embrace

Sitting beside you in that hospital room

I held your hand tightly to chase out the gloom

You were so ill, but we weathered the fear

I promised right then I would always be near

Through the beeping machines and the longest of nights

I stayed by your side till you stepped in the light

You’re the rock for your girls and the grandkids too

There is nothing for this family that you wouldn't do

You are our whole world, a safe place to hide

I’d do it all again just to be by your side

Over and over, whatever we face

I’ll love you forever in this steady embrace

From the start of the race to the quietest tears

Your sense of humor has carried the years

You stand like a shield when the cold winds blow

My beautiful husband, I just need you to know

You’re the rock for your girls and the grandkids too

There is nothing for this family that you wouldn't do

You are our whole world, a safe place to hide

I’d do it all again just to be by your side

Over and over, whatever we do

I'll spend my forever, Keith, right next to you
