Dena

Looking back on the days with my mother

Learning how to be patient and kind

Seeing love poured out for each other

Leaving all of the shadows behind

It’s a faith that was planted so deep in my soul

A quiet surrender that makes a heart whole

For God so loved the world

That He gave His only Son

The ultimate gift of salvation

A victory already won

Through every new life and every new season

His love is the anchor, His grace is the reason

Oh, God so loved the world

I held my own kids in the still of the morning

And watched as the years hurried by

Then came the grandkids, a beautiful blessing

Like stars lighting up the night sky

Now a great-grandchild rests in my arms

I see heaven in every new face

For God so loved the world

That He gave His only Son

The ultimate gift of salvation

A victory already won

Through every new life and every new season

His love is the anchor, His grace is the reason

Oh, God so loved the world

My name is Dena, and this is my story

A life built on patience, a heart full of praise

Reflecting His kindness and giving Him glory

I’ll sing of His goodness the rest of my days

From the roots of my past to the branches above

It is all held together by one perfect love

'Cause God so loved the world

That He gave His only Son

The ultimate gift of salvation

A victory already won

Through every new life and every new season

His love is the anchor, His grace is the reason

Yes, God so loved the world

He gave His only Son
