Melissa

Forty years of walking side by side,

Through every storm, you've been my steady guide.

Melissa, you're the sister of my soul,

Your understanding always makes me whole.

With every laugh we share, you bring the light,

Your patient spirit gets me through the night.

Oh, I can stand and boldly testify,

I shall live, Lord, I shall not die.

You held my hand when the valley was low,

Showing me a kindness that overflows.

Melissa, my sister, my faithful friend,

With your supportive love, my broken pieces mend.

You always know exactly what to say,

To chase the heavy shadows far away.

You bring the joy, you make my spirit smile,

And walk with me across the hardest mile.

So lovable, so tender, and so kind,

You read the silent troubles in my mind.

Oh, I can stand and boldly testify,

I shall live, Lord, I shall not die.

You held my hand when the valley was low,

Showing me a kindness that overflows.

Melissa, my sister, my faithful friend,

With your supportive love, my broken pieces mend.

Four decades of a bond that will not break,

You gave me courage for my journey's sake.

Through every trial, you were standing there,

Wrapping my heart in your loving care.

You are the family that my spirit found,

Lifting my weary feet up off the ground.

Oh, I can stand and boldly testify,

I shall live, Lord, I shall not die!

You held my hand when the valley was low,

Showing me a kindness that overflows.

Melissa, my sister, my faithful friend,

I will walk beside you till the very end.

By the grace of God, I lift my head up high,

I shall live, my friend, I shall not die.
