Barbara

I sent a whisper to the dark, a quiet, hopeful prayer

Wondering if you were out there, wondering if you'd care

You made a promise to yourself, persistent and so true

A selfless search to find me, until my world found you

Oh, Barbara, you are so much more

Than anything I ever could have hoped for

With every piece of love you give, your beauty shining through

I know God sure smiled when He created you

You have a spirit open wide, so tender and so smart

Honest in the way you speak, and loyal in your heart

Forgiving of the years between, a passionate embrace

Your giving nature fills the room and lights up every space

Oh, Barbara, you are so much more

Than anything I ever could have hoped for

With every piece of love you give, your beauty shining through

I know God sure smiled when He created you

True to your word, you stayed the course when others might have run

You kept the promise that you made until the work was done

I look at you, my daughter, and I finally feel whole

An answer to my prayers that healed the corners of my soul

Oh, Barbara, you are so much more

Than anything I ever could have hoped for

With every piece of love you give, your beauty shining through

I know God sure smiled when He created you

Yes, God sure smiled when He created you
