Ammie

Pouring 1942 on our very first date

I looked across the table, knew I found my fate

Riding out to see the little town you're from

I realized right then that my future had come

I look at every picture, I see that perfect shine

The twinkle in your eyes when you're looking into mine

Ammie, you're a gem, God blessed me from the start

With your beautiful smile and your loving heart

You mean the whole world to me, I swear it's true

I would give my very life if it came down to you

Never forget it, I thank Him every day

I love you, Ammie, more than I could ever say

Painting and coloring, just taking our time

Playing hands of Spades, laughing out of our minds

Harmonizing with you, such a beautiful voice

When we're singing together, I can only rejoice

Take me back to the glow of the Christmas lights

Wrapped up in your arms on those tender nights

You're a wonderful teacher, so patient and kind

The most encouraging words that I'll ever find

You're funny and you're sweet, you steady my soul

Since the day that I met you, you made me whole

Ammie, you're a gem, God blessed me from the start

With your beautiful smile and your loving heart

You mean the whole world to me, I swear it's true

I would give my very life if it came down to you

Never forget it, I thank Him every day

I love you, Ammie, more than I could ever say
