Carlos

When the room was spinning and I couldn't leave the bed

You brought me a glass of water and kissed my heavy head

You took care of me when I was too sick to stand

Showed me the true meaning of a steady, helping man

Carlos, you're the strength that holds us all together

A safe place to land in the darkest kind of weather

You didn't have to do it, but you gave us all you had

Thank you for becoming my children's second dad

I'll never forget the way you showed up for my mother

You stayed the night beside her, watching out like no other

Giving up your sleep just to make sure she was fine

That's the moment I knew for sure your heart was tied to mine

Carlos, you're the strength that holds us all together

A safe place to land in the darkest kind of weather

You didn't have to do it, but you gave us all you had

Thank you for becoming my children's second dad

Raising these kids with you is a beautiful ride

Watching you guide them fills me up with pride

You're my boyfriend, my partner, the strongest soul I see

Thank you for loving them, and thank you for loving me

Oh Carlos, you're the strength that holds us all together

A safe place to land in the darkest kind of weather

You didn't have to do it, but you gave us all you had

Thank you for becoming my children's second dad

Yeah, thank you for being my children's second dad
