Michael

Lord, I trace Your hand of mercy to my brother’s wedding day

I was shy and standing back, but Michael came my way

I wasn't quiet very long, he drew me from the dark

Roller skating, going bowling, Heaven lit a spark

We were always going places, taking on the world as two

With a bond that only deepened as the early seasons flew

Lord, I thank You for a husband who is funny, kind, and wise

For the deeply caring spirit I see shining in his eyes

Through the trials of our lives, Your grace has been our guide

You blessed me with my Michael, walking with me side by side

Through the joy and through the sorrow, every prayer exhales

Just like Your holy word has promised, love never fails

Of all the places we would go and memories we’d make

It's the simple, quiet moments that I hold for heaven's sake

Every Friday at the sub shop, our weekly faithful treat

Just sitting there together made the evening feel complete

He is always there to help me, so loving and so true

I thank the Lord above for every day I have with you

Lord, I thank You for a husband who is funny, kind, and wise

For the deeply caring spirit I see shining in his eyes

Through the trials of our lives, Your grace has been our guide

You blessed me with my Michael, walking with me side by side

Through the joy and through the sorrow, every prayer exhales

Just like Your holy word has promised, love never fails

When the shadows tried to break us, we didn't walk alone

Through your battle with the cancer, God was on the throne

When my health began to falter, we leaned upon His grace

We stayed right beside each other, seeking out His face

In the fire and the furnace, we were anchored in the truth

Lord, I lift a song of gratitude for Michael and for You

Lord, I thank You for a husband who is funny, kind, and wise

For the deeply caring spirit I see shining in his eyes

Through the trials of our lives, Your grace has been our guide

You blessed me with my Michael, walking with me side by side

First Corinthians thirteen eight, the promise that prevails

Amen, my Michael, love never fails
