The sorrow was heavy, the losses ran deep

For the father I lost and the babies I grieve

The heartache completely changed who I would be

But the valley of shadows brought the Savior to me

When my spirit was shattered and I had nothing left

I found my Heavenly Father in the middle of the test

The Lord is so near to the broken and bruised

Stand on His word, He will carry you through

Never doubt what He promised, never doubt who you are

He holds every tear and He heals every scar

He gave me a family, a marriage so sweet

A beautiful gift making my life complete

I remember the calling in two thousand and four

I accepted the ministry, opening the door

Determined and present, and wise for my years

I stepped out in faith and surrendered my fears
