Jerome

Looking back at the sidelines, you were always right there

Through the football drills and the summer air

Swinging bats at baseball, bowing in karate class

Every single moment, you were making sure it lasts

You never missed a beat, you never let me fall

Pops, you were the one who stood strong through it all

Jerome, my protector, my provider, my guide

My best friend and my Superman, right by my side

I love you, Pops, I just want you to understand

I'm thankful you were there, making me this man

Yeah, you made me who I am

I can still hear the engines kicking up the dust

Riding dune buggies, building up that bond of trust

You bought me that mini bike, taught me how to steer

We were flying on the quads, shifting through the gears

You showed me how to hold my ground and how to ride

Showing me a strength that you never had to hide

Jerome, my protector, my provider, my guide

My best friend and my Superman, right by my side

I love you, Pops, I just want you to understand

I'm thankful you were there, making me this man

Yeah, you made me who I am

But it wasn't just the sports or the tracks we used to race

You taught me the gospel, showed me truth and grace

The greatest teacher that I've ever known

You laid the foundation for how much I have grown

Jerome, my protector, my provider, my guide

My best friend and my Superman, right by my side

I love you, Pops, I just want you to understand

I'm thankful you were there, making me this man

Yeah, you made me who I am

Thank you for everything, my Superman
