Alexander

I still remember the day you arrived on Earth

The quiet room, the wonder of your birth

My first born son, so fragile and new

My whole world shifted the moment I held you

I whispered your name as you opened your eyes

The greatest of gifts under wide, open skies

Alexander, you are my sunshine

A light in my life through the changing weather

Through every chapter and every line

I will love my sunshine forever

I will love my sunshine forever

I watched you grow with a fire inside

A Viking heart, so fearless and wide

You forged your own path, honest and true

An Eagle Scout soaring, I'm so proud of you

You carry a strength that is gentle and deep

A promise of goodness you always keep

The years hurry by like a song on the keys

But I hold onto all of these sweet memories

No matter how high or how far you may fly

You will always be the bright sun in my sky

Alexander, you are my sunshine

A light in my life through the changing weather

Through every chapter and every line

I will love my sunshine forever

Alexander, I love my sunshine forever
