Shawn

We marked our names on a tree at the park

You’d rest on my lap as the evening grew dark

Sweet dances together when our favorite songs play

And family bike rides with Max at the end of the day

You're so quick with a cuddle, so loving and sweet

A sociable friend to the people you meet

Shawn, you're a masterpiece formed by the Maker's design

I am so grateful to God every day that you're mine

With faith in the One True God, you can conquer the dark

Yes, He loves you more, but you’ll always have my heart

Watching you grow is my proudest reward

Our greatest of treasures, a gift from the Lord

From playing Donkey Kong to kayaking out with your dad

Snorkeling with manta rays, the adventures we've had

We sing at worship concerts with our hands raised above

You're a gifted prayer warrior, so full of His love

You see the good in people when they struggle and fall

With a contagious laugh that brings joy to us all

Shawn, you're a masterpiece formed by the Maker's design

I am so grateful to God every day that you're mine

With faith in the One True God, you can conquer the dark

Yes, He loves you more, but you’ll always have my heart

Watching you grow is my proudest reward

Our greatest of treasures, a gift from the Lord

From pilgrimages far away to movies on the screen

Just enjoying every moment of the places we have been

You never give up, you're determined and sure

Molded by God's hands, with a spirit so pure

No obstacle stands in the way of your grace

When you're walking with Jesus and seeking His face

Oh Shawn, you're a masterpiece formed by the Maker's design

I am so grateful to God every day that you're mine

With faith in the One True God, you can conquer the dark

Yes, He loves you more, but you’ll always have my heart

Watching you grow is my proudest reward

Our greatest of treasures, a gift from the Lord
