Lord, I thank You for the years we shared

For a devoted man who always cared

David was the shelter in my storm

A protective love that kept me warm

He walked in faith, a steady guide

With the Spirit standing by his side

Now he’s resting in the Savior's arms

I can still hear the grandchildren's glee

When he’d make them laugh so easily

He had a joke for every tear we cried

With a funny smile he couldn't hide

He’d wrap his arms around me by surprise

With unexpected gifts and loving eyes
