Carolyn

I still remember the glow of that sign

You were turning twenty-one, looking so fine

Standing outside D's Bar in the evening air

I knew right then I had a lifetime to share

You had that playful spark in your eye

A tender heart that no money could buy

They say favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain

But a woman who fears the Lord, her praise will remain

Carolyn, you're patient, you're loving and true

And my love grows stronger each day with you

We traded those street lights for a hospital room

Welcomed two sons, watched our family bloom

You held them so close with a caring embrace

I saw the pure grace shining right on your face

A mother, a partner, my absolute rock

Walking together through every tick of the clock

They say favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain

But a woman who fears the Lord, her praise will remain

Carolyn, you're patient, you're loving and true

And my love grows stronger each day with you

Pack up the truck, leave the driveway behind

Any state park is where we'll unwind

Pitching a tent underneath the tall pines

Laughing together as the morning sun shines

Just a campfire glowing and you by my side

With the Lord as our compass and love as our guide

The years keep on turning, the boys getting tall

But that girl outside D's Bar is still my all

Proverbs thirty-one, verse thirty is clear

You're the living proof of the words that I hear

Playful and tender, my beautiful wife

You bring so much light to the days of my life

They say favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain

But a woman who fears the Lord, her praise will remain

Carolyn, you're patient, you're loving and true

And my love grows stronger each day with you

Yeah, my love grows stronger each day with you
