Rebekah

I was burdened down with a heavy load,

Walking a lonely and broken road.

I felt unworthy, no love could I see,

The pain of this old world was drowning me.

There were days I didn’t want to go on,

I thought all my hope and my strength were gone.

Then I heard a voice so gentle and true,

Saying, “Rebekah, my child, I’m here for you.”

Jesus’ love has set me free,

He broke the chains that once held me.

He filled my heart with perfect peace,

His joy and mercy will never cease.

He gave me a reason to live each day,

With family and friends along the way.

Now I’ll praise Him through eternity,

Thank God, His love has set me free!

My mind was filled with endless fights,

Through darkest days and sleepless nights.

Spiritually trapped behind prison walls,

I wondered if He even heard my calls.

But when I couldn't carry it anymore,

With hard times knocking at my door,

He reached out to me with nail-scarred hands,

And lifted me up to where I now stand.

Jesus’ love has set me free,

If Jesus can do it for me,

He surely can do it for you.

No matter how far you’ve wandered away,

His mercy is still brand new.

Just call upon His holy name,

He’ll wash away your hurt and shame.

If Jesus can do it for me,
