Bernadette

Bernadette, you keep your hands steady and your spirit still

Working hard through every day, climbing up the hill

You’ve always been a listener, patient through the noise

Waiting for the comfort of a much higher voice

When the weight of all the world is heavy on your chest

You know how to bow your head and trust Him with the rest

Because God is always present, holding every thread

Guiding every footstep on the road ahead

Nothing ever happens outside His loving grace

Divine providence is moving in this place

When a chapter closes, let the peace overcome

There is always something better yet to come

Cast your memory to Rome, the year of Jubilee

Modern church unfolding in the ancient history

Standing in the timeless squares where saints and seekers stood

Seeing how the Maker works it all out for your good

Walking down the cobblestones beneath the golden sun

La dolce vita shining when the working day is done

Because God is always present, holding every thread

Guiding every footstep on the road ahead

Nothing ever happens outside His loving grace

Divine providence is moving in this place

When a chapter closes, let the peace overcome

There is always something better yet to come

So keep your gentle patience, keep your open ears

The Architect of ages is holding all your years

Every hour of labor, every quiet prayer

Is woven in a master plan, handled with His care

He sees the dedication in everything you do

And He is always working out a miracle for you

Yes, God is always present, holding every thread

Guiding every footstep on the road ahead

Nothing ever happens outside His loving grace

Divine providence is moving in this place

Bernadette, just smile and let the peace overcome

There is always something better yet to come
