Donald

It started at a fish fry at your pastor's home

I knew right then I'd never walk alone

Donald, you've got a heart that's open wide

With the love of Jesus shining deep inside

You shepherd your people, you care for the lost

Faithful to the kingdom, no matter the cost

And the Lord says when you pass through the waters

He will be right there by your side

The rushing rivers will not overflow you

In His mighty hands, you can hide

When you walk through the fire, you won't be burned

His grace is the promise your spirit has learned

I love the quiet moments when you sing to me

A melody of grace that sets my spirit free

Or watching you cast a line out on the lake

Finding the peace that only heaven can make

You love our family, you love everyone

A faithful servant until the day is done

And the Lord says when you pass through the waters

He will be right there by your side

The rushing rivers will not overflow you

In His mighty hands, you can hide

When you walk through the fire, you won't be burned

His grace is the promise your spirit has learned

As a pastor, you carry the weight and the care

But you know the Father is answering prayer

No flame will kindle, no shadow will stay

He goes before you to light up the way

So when you pass through the waters

He will be right there by your side

The rushing rivers will not overflow you

In His mighty hands, you can hide

When you walk through the fire, you won't be burned

Donald, His love is the truth you have learned
