Larry

I still laugh about the day we met

A summer night that I won't forget

Down at the fair, under neon lights

I kicked you out of the camper that night

But you didn't run, you just stood your ground

And somehow you turned my whole world around

Now look at this beautiful life we've made

From a stubborn start in the midway shade

Oh Larry, you're the toughest man I know

But you always give my heart a safe place to go

A steady provider with hardworking hands

You support every dream and you understand

You make me feel special, you keep me safe

Through every season, in every place

We worked so hard for the things we share

And to think it all started down at the fair

It became our spot as the years went by

Underneath that open county sky

You got down on a knee by the flashing rides

And asked me to stand right by your side

We danced at our reception on those same grounds

With the cotton candy and the carnival sounds

Then we opened our home, let the love pour in

Adopted our kids, let the best days begin

Oh Larry, you're the toughest man I know

But you always give my heart a safe place to go

A steady provider with hardworking hands

You support every dream and you understand

You make me feel special, you keep me safe

Through every season, in every place

We worked so hard for the things we share

And to think it all started down at the fair

From exotic animal auctions, just you and me

To building this life like a family tree

We put in the hours, the sweat, and the time

I'm so proud of our story, so glad that you're mine

You're the rock of this house, so sturdy and true

I'm so lucky to share this journey with you

Oh Larry, you're the toughest man I know

But you always give my heart a safe place to go

A steady provider with hardworking hands

You support every dream and you understand

You make me feel special, you keep me safe

Through every season, in every place

We worked so hard for the love we share

I love you forever, my boy from the fair
