Melinda

Looking back at the girl I used to be

Raising a child when I was just a kid myself, you see

I walked through the fire of an abusive, broken home

Gathered up my courage and I struck out on my own

I left that heavy shadow far behind

To see what kind of future I could find

Oh, Melinda, you're capable of more than you know

When you walk into a room, you make the whole place glow

You're a bright-eyed, wonderful woman, standing tall and doing fine

Strong and resilient, leaving all the hurt behind

Yeah, you're making your own way without a hitch

You're the one and only Wonder Bitch

I broke the mold, the first to get a college degree

Nobody in my family had done that before me

I kept my spirit fun, I kept my mind so smart

Eager and curious, with a big and caring heart

Every late-night struggle, every tear I had to dry

Just built the wings that finally helped me fly

Oh, Melinda, you're capable of more than you know

When you walk into a room, you make the whole place glow

You're a bright-eyed, wonderful woman, standing tall and doing fine

Strong and resilient, leaving all the hurt behind

Yeah, you're making your own way without a hitch

You're the one and only Wonder Bitch

So keep on going, don't you ever give up the fight

You mean so much to the people in your light

More than you even realize, more than words can say

You've earned every single blessing in your way

Oh, Melinda, you're capable of more than you know

When you walk into a room, you make the whole place glow

You're a bright-eyed, wonderful woman, standing tall and doing fine

Strong and resilient, leaving all the hurt behind

Yeah, you're making your own way without a hitch

You're the one and only Wonder Bitch
