Jim

I still remember that Sunday morning light

The moment that you first caught my eye

Walking to the stage to play the drums

I couldn't see all the beautiful years to come

Jim, your kindness drew me from the start

A loyal man with a compassionate heart

So trust in the Lord with all of your heart

He goes before you, even in the dark

He will never leave you, He won't forsake

He is in every single step you take

You love our children fiercely, you're my steady guide

I'm so grateful to be standing by your side

You always want everyone to be okay

You'd stop to help a stranger find their way

You carry the weight for those who fall behind

It’s just the nature of a soul so kind

When I see the way you hold our family close

That’s the gentle strength that I love the most

So trust in the Lord with all of your heart

He goes before you, even in the dark

He will never leave you, He won't forsake

He is in every single step you take

You love our children fiercely, you're my steady guide

I'm so grateful to be standing by your side

When the rhythm gets heavy and the road is long

Keep playing the beat, keep trusting the song

God is standing with you, His promise is true

He is pouring His endless grace over you

So trust in the Lord with all of your heart

He goes before you, even in the dark

He will never leave you, He won't forsake

He is in every single step you take

You love our children fiercely, you're my steady guide

Jim, I'm so grateful to be by your side
