Larry

The power was out and the branches were down

We were clearing the ice from the streets of the town

You caught my eye and you said, "Don't do it"

I thought you were trouble, right then I knew it

A playful remark in the freezing cold weather

That's how our story started together

Oh Larry, you're strong and you're my safe place

You bring out the warmth in the coldest of space

We protect each other's freedom as one

Standing together until the day's done

I'll reach out my hand, and you'll do the same

Two better than one, stoking the flame

You're considerate, loving, and make me feel free

You're exactly the partner I need you to be

With a joke and a laugh, you lighten the load

A protective embrace on a difficult road

You're funny and wild, but you're tender and true

I found my best friend when I stumbled on you

Oh Larry, you're strong and you're my safe place

You bring out the warmth in the coldest of space

We protect each other's freedom as one

Standing together until the day's done

I'll reach out my hand, and you'll do the same

Two better than one, stoking the flame

Ecclesiastes four, verses nine and ten

I'd weather that freezing ice storm again

'Cause if one of us falls, we are never alone

We lift each other up, and we carry it home

Yeah, the labor is sweet when you're sharing the pull

You take my whole heart and you make it so full

Oh Larry, you're strong and you're my safe place

You bring out the warmth in the coldest of space

We protect each other's freedom as one

Standing together until the day's done

I'll reach out my hand, and you'll do the same

Two better than one, forever unchanged
