You carried the weight of the days on your shoulders

Working so hard to provide for your own

But you always made time when the weather got colder

To make sure the beauty of nature was shown

We’d set up the camp and look up at the stars

And you’d tell us how lucky and blessed we all are

You taught us to count every blessing He gave

To trust in His promise, to be strong and brave

Through the sweat and the sacrifice, Dad, you stood tall

You showed us the love of the Maker through it all

I still smell the woodsmoke and hear the old stories

The lessons of faith that you shared by the flame

You worked for our future, not looking for glory

Just thanking the Lord and praising His name

Those nights in the woods are a treasure I keep

A foundation of love that runs steady and deep

You taught us to count every blessing He gave

To trust in His promise, to be strong and brave

You showed us the love of the Maker through it all

And I can only imagine the joy of that day

When all of the shadows have faded away

When we’re finally home with our God in His grace

And we see Joshua and Caleb right there in that place

Gathered together, our spirits set free

Making our family complete for eternity
