Jack

Lord, I look back at the story You wrote

Every little detail, every single note

Back in '89, in a Winn-Dixie aisle

You changed my whole life with the warmth of his smile

I didn't know then what You had in store

But Jack was the blessing I was praying for

I thank the Lord for the man that you are

My patient protector, my steadying star

The best husband given to make my life whole

Jack, I love you with my heart and soul

I lift up my hands for the love that we share

You are my beautiful, answered prayer

Through all of the seasons, the highs and the lows

Your patient devotion just deepens and grows

I want you to know you are so appreciated

A beautiful bond that the Father created

You lead with a kindness that mirrors His grace

I see heaven's love when I look in your face

I thank the Lord for the man that you are

My patient protector, my steadying star

The best husband given to make my life whole

Jack, I love you with my heart and soul

I lift up my hands for the love that we share

You are my beautiful, answered prayer

Since nineteen eighty-nine, walking this road

Sharing the Spirit and sharing the load

God knew exactly the partner I'd need

A loving companion in word and in deed

Every tomorrow and all of my days

I'll stand by your side in a posture of praise

I thank the Lord for the man that you are

My patient protector, my steadying star

The best husband given to make my life whole

Jack, I love you with my heart and soul

Yes, I lift up my hands for the love that we share

You are my beautiful, answered prayer

With my heart and my soul, I will always be there
