Haley

I know the early years were heavy

Carrying a weight you didn’t choose

Lost inside the shadows of addiction

You had to learn to walk in broken shoes

I know the chaos that surrounded you

And how you had to grow up way too fast

But somehow you stepped out into the daylight

And left the pain and struggle in the past

Haley, I see you

I see the battles that you fought to find the sun

I look at you with so much pride

At the incredible woman you've become

Through every tear and every trial you made it through

My beautiful daughter, I see you

Then life gave you the hardest mountain

A month of holding heaven in your hands

I watched you face a mother's deepest sorrow

A tragedy so hard to understand

You had to kiss your baby girl goodbye

And carry all that grief inside your chest

But you didn't let the darkness pull you under

You found the grace to breathe through all the rest

Haley, I see you

I see the battles that you fought to find the sun

I look at you with so much pride

At the incredible woman you've become

Through every tear and every trial you made it through

My beautiful daughter, I see you

You survived the storms I couldn't save you from

And the quiet room where lullabies belong

You took the heavy pages of your story

And wrote a chapter beautiful and strong

You are everything I always hoped you'd be

And I just need to make sure that you see

That Haley, I see you

I see the battles that you fought to find the sun

I look at you with so much pride

At the incredible woman you've become

Through every tear and every trial you made it through

My beautiful daughter, I see you

I am so proud of you

Haley, I see you
