Cole

My son, I remember at Hideaway Cove

Down by the campground where the water flowed

You learned how to swim, stepping into the deep

Finding the courage that your spirit would keep

Now you've grown up with a soul brave and bold

Watching your beautiful story unfold

As you walk through the valley of death

You will fear no evil with every breath

You're a fearless leader, loyal and kind

Leaving the shadows of the world behind

When the journey is hard and you're at the brink

Cole, you are stronger than you think

I see your passion when you're on the court

Playing with Jaiden, giving all to the sport

And those days we trained, pushing side by side

At the Kent County YMCA, I watched you with pride

You carry a spirit that's loving and true

A steadfast protector in all that you do

As you walk through the valley of death

You will fear no evil with every breath

You're a fearless leader, loyal and kind

Leaving the shadows of the world behind

When the journey is hard and you're at the brink

Cole, you are stronger than you think

In a broken world of an eye for an eye

You hold onto grace and you look to the sky

No matter the distance, no matter the view

Aliya loves and she misses you

She's holding you close in her heart every day

While heaven is guiding your steps on the way

So walk through the valley of death

And fear no evil with every breath

You're a fearless leader, loyal and kind

Leaving the shadows of the world behind

When the journey is hard and you're at the brink

Cole, you are stronger than you think

My son, you are stronger than you think
