John

Back in twenty-eighteen, under an Arizona sky

We found a spark in Yuma, watching the days go by

From the colors of the sunset to the breaking of the dawn

We were singing, we were dancing, while the world kept spinning on

Every morning brought a promise, every evening brought a song

John, you are my best friend, through seven beautiful years

You're the one who keeps me steady, you quiet all my fears

You're patient and you're humble, the kindest soul I know

With your encouraging spirit, you always help me grow

You always have a funny word to make me start to smile

You're so caring and so helpful, walking the extra mile

When the road gets a little heavy, you're the one who shares the weight

So supportive and so loving, I'm so grateful for our fate

You're the steady hand that guides me, keeping all my pathways straight

John, you are my best friend, through seven beautiful years

You're the one who keeps me steady, you quiet all my fears

You're patient and you're humble, the kindest soul I know

With your encouraging spirit, you always help me grow

The old has passed away, the new has finally come

We are a new creation, standing in the sun

And I can do all things through the One who gives me strength

With faith and you beside me, we can go to any length

John, you are my best friend, through seven beautiful years

You're the one who keeps me steady, you quiet all my fears

You're patient and you're humble, the kindest soul I know

With your encouraging spirit, you always help me grow

Seven years of loving you, and a lifetime left to go
