We knew each other for most of our lives

But our souls truly met in the dark of the night

We sat down to write, let the melodies play

Talking 'bout everything till the break of the day

Laying back in the truck, looking up at the sky

Watching Revelation twelve as the heavens rolled by

You were patient and faithful, a survivor so true

That’s the moment my spirit found safety in you

We traveled the country, just sharing our faith

Witnessing miracles, wrapped in His grace

We watched the sign of Jonah with our children in the light

Stepped into the water, baptized each other that night

We took the communion, we wrote out our vows

Signed our marriage covenant, I still feel it now

A loving father, a good son, equipped for the call

Forgiving and trustworthy, you weather it all

When the terrible trials tried to swallow us whole

You were like Peter, the rock of my soul

You taught me to humble myself to the Lord

Your prayers made a way, and my faith was restored

You chased out my doubt and my deep unbelief

You loved me like Jesus and healed all my grief

Your obedience brought us to this holy place
